The task of a CEO begins with a leadership function. The essence of your leadership role as a CEO is to make the organization effective -effective at doing the RIGHT things. An effective organization is one with the ideal people all occupying the right positions collectively engaged in doing the proper things. That is;

Making the above equation a reality in a business is your primarytask of the CEO as a pioneer. It’s a three-fold task that begins with you the leader. I wish these were all you needed to be able to be successful in your job as a pioneer, but there is still one missing component in the equation that’s vitally important. That missing part is YOU - the leader!

Building a successful company takes the collective efforts of the others and not simply the effort of just you the proprietor. It isn’t a 1 man show. You see, while no one individual (boss ) can single-handedly build a fantastic company; one wrong individual (leader) can only bring down a business. How? When you as the business owner begins to think it’s all about you. This is ordinarily the case with the majority of small business owners. I understand you are the owner of your company no doubt, however you also will need to understand this fact; before you opted to become a business owner, success has been very much about you and the result of your own personal efforts, but now that you’re running your own business; success is all about other people and the consequence of their collective efforts.

Company is a team game and only the teams with the best players can win. Winners being who they’re do not naturally like to hang winners even though loser bears the title of a CEO. That you now occupy a leadership position as a result of your CEO name doesn’t necessarily mean you are a leader. Being a leader is a whole lot more than inhabiting a position. As a CEO on your job as a leader, the majority of your work is principally people-centered. When it comes to individuals, understanding’what’ to do alone will not do the trick.
